A deer was skinned and butchered using a variety of flint tools ranging from well made flint knives to simple flakes. This experiment was to test the efficiency of various tools for a single task and also to provide reference materials for use-wear analysis.
Initial incisions, then the skin is removed
The carcass is ready for butchering
.Needless to say the deer was cooked (in a pit with hot stones) and eaten.
